Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
CleanUp is built to work on your PC without sending anything about your files or apps to us. This policy explains the little we do collect: anonymous usage counts from the app, and account details when you sign in or buy a plan.
The app
- Anonymous usage counts. By default the app sends counts of what it does: installs, launches, scans, files cleaned and bytes freed, apps removed, changes applied and undone, and security scans. These carry no ID, name, file path, app name or setting, and we store only daily totals, not IP addresses. You can turn this off in the app under Settings > Privacy & safety.
- The app does not send crash reports or anything about your files, apps, settings or scan results.
- Scan results, recovery copies, History and preferences stay on your PC.
- Security status comes from Microsoft Defender on your PC. Defender's own cloud protection follows Microsoft's settings and privacy terms, not ours.
- Optional cloud cleanup talks directly to the provider you connect (for example Google Drive). Those requests do not pass through our servers.
Your account
If you create an account, we store:
- Your name and email address, and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself).
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name and email.
- Sign-in sessions, including the IP address and browser user agent used to sign in.
- For each PC you connect: a random device ID created by the app, the PC's Windows computer name, and when it last renewed its license.
- Your plan and its status (for example active, trial, cancelled).
We use this only to run your account, provide paid features, prevent abuse and contact you about your account or purchases. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
Payments
Stripe processes payments and stores your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and payment and refund events. We never see your full card number.
Service providers
- Vercel hosts this website and the account service.
- Neon hosts the account database in the United States.
- Stripe processes payments.
They process data on our behalf and only for these purposes.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep account data while your account exists. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account, write to support@clnup.si. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, including to object and to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
CleanUp accounts are not intended for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update this page and the date above, and tell account holders by email about material changes.
